I have a decker rat terrier who has a lump on the bridge of his nose, should i be concerned?

I am going to call the vet tomorrow. Is this normal for terriers, does cancer run in the breed? I am already freaked out, he is barely a year old.
Thank you for everyone for taking time out to answere the question. He has an apointment with the vet on monday, because of your feed back i can go in with a lot less anxiety. Thanks again

Should I give my dog away?

I asked this a few days ago, but still don’t know what to do. I inherited my mom’s pekingese. I take good care of her, but I just don’t know if she’s happy here. I posted an ad to see if I might find a better home for her and I got a good lead. There is an older couple who work, but work opposite shifts who want a companion for their pekingese. I think they may be able to devote more attention to the dogs since their kids are grown. I still have little kids to take care of. On the other hand, I’m home all the time, so she’s rarely left alone. How do I know what is best for her?

What games do you play with a dog that just wants petting?

Sorry … I don’t know how to ask. She’s part Beagle and pointer, but she doesn’t want to fetch, play tug or play with toys. She just wants to sit in your lap and be petted. (Not correct grammar, but how else to say it). She’s sweet. That’s about it. The problem is I’m more active. So what are something I can do to play with her or to encourage play?

The dog in Marley & Me (movie)?

I heard a rumor that they simply used a naturally “bad” dog, and not a trained dog - setting up a disaster-prone situation, and simply letting the dog go at it. Anyone know if this is true?

German Shepard puppy or older dog? With other animals?

My mother and father rescued a 10 month old sable German Shepard. He is a beautiful dog, but he didnt have a great home life before my parents got him. They have had him for about 2 months now. My mom has had greater luck connecting with the dog. But it took quite a while for the dog to approach my father (apparently he had two male owners that didnt treat him very well). I have a 17 month old yorkie. We have been trying to get them to get along when I come over to visit, but it’s just not working. My yorkie acts just fine, not scared or anything, but the German Shepard (Max) wants to play very rough with his tiny body.

So my parents have found two more dogs to rescue. One is a puppy and the other is a year old. Both are females. The older one is fixed. My parents get to pick one, but they cant take both at this time. They have sectioned off half of the yard (more than two acres in each half) so they can take another dog and keep it separated from Max.
So which one do you think would be best for their situation? They are going back and forth between the two. My father votes for the puppy so he can train it “right” and then Max would have an example to work with. Then the puppy could basically show Max that the world isnt scary and he can trust my family.

My mom votes for the older female so Max has a buddy to run around with, to let all of that crazy energy out with, someone his size to play with basically.
The other two dogs are both GSDs as well.
They fostered another very old GSD until about 2 months ago when they had to let him go. He was about 12 years old (vet’s best guess) and had arthritis all over his body. They got Max a week before they elected to let Jack go. Mas loved having a friend. Jack was a very gentle dog though. He was my yorkie’s best friend. They would nap together and play tug-of-war. So we know that GSDs can be great, gentle, loyal dogs. We hope that Max learns that this home is much better than his last one, and calms down a little. But he is still just a big puppy!!
