I’m looking at gaited horses. I’ve heard that if you have one, nobody will be able to keep up with you on the trail. Besides the smooth ride, what are the other bonuses? I keep seeing stellar temperaments comming up.

I have a fenced in yard where the dog will be most of the time when it is nice outside. The dog is a boxer/black lab and it is a puppy (4-5 months). But I also want to know how often he will need to go out as an adult

How can I teach my blind dog to get up and down from my high bed?

I have a blind mini dachshund that has a slight amount of sight (about 10% or less) in one eye. He normally learns quickly when a room is changed around and he can get around obstacles, but I recently put my bed up on a bed frame, so it is about a foot higher than it was before. He is having a lot of trouble getting down from it, but he has been able to jump up on it with only minor trouble. I bought some puppy stairs for small dogs to get up, but he can’t seem to figure out where the stairs are even though I keep them in the same place and I’m constantly showing him where they are. I wondered if anyone knew any good techniques to either get him to learn the stairs or how I could get him to jump down on his own without feeling as much fear as he has now when he tries to jump down. I don’t want him to get hurt either, but I also don’t want him to depend on me to get down. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

everytime the telly is on, Chabo sits in front of the screen and watches. I dont even know if he knows what he is looking at.

for everyones information my rottweiler is the nicest dog in the world. she wouldnt rip another puppies head off. she was abandoned in a cornfeild with her puppies. she is only HALF rottweiler, the other half is lab. so shut up with your mean comments. rottweilers are nice dogs. she had puppies of her own once. And she licks my kitten to death.

When I say cheap, I mean like less that $300, I don’t want to pay $1000 just for the dog. I do understand that of course there will be costs for vet, food, grooming, ect.

A 90+-year-old woman puts cold and wet dog in microwave to dry it - set at 5mins. Senile or stupid?

She had a poodle whom she put in dog shows and wanted the dog’s fur to look really smooth and fluffy. After hearing about this, I was so angry and felt so bad for the dog having to die because of this woman who chose to microwave after having been putting her in the oven at a low heat for half an hour. I am sick to my stomach over this. Another disturbing part is that her grandson is a photographer and he knew about his grandmother putting her poodle in her oven. When they (grandma and dog) went out for their daily walk, it began to pour. That’s when they got home and she put the poor dog in the microwave, then she went into her bathroom to dry her hair with her hairdryer. All that was done to the woman was a warning. That’s not good enough, in my opinion. What do all think?

How can i get two girl dogs to get along?

OK, so I have a 1 year old Havanese dog. Shes a girl. Some of our friends just brought in a girl Labrador. Its about 6 Months old. My Havanese dog is terrorizing the Labrador. How can i get them to be friends? Our friends are going to be out of town for a month. so… any ideas?
