did your dog do this when it had heartworms?

my dog has/had heartworms,and i got her treated,she got her injections wednesday and thursday of last week, she just started coughing today. is this ok? she only vomits when she drinks water. shes already getting her energy back. is this all normal. the dr said she might go thru this but i was just wondering how normal it is.
we go back to the vet tomorrow. i was just wanting to know how other peoples animals were. you know,it sort of gives me hope that shes on the road to recovery and is going to make it thru this.

What homemade remedy can I use to keep the animals off of the furniture?

My grandma has me finding this spray she calls “cat and dog off.” Its supposed to help keep animals off of the furniture but i can’t find anything along that line in the store. Does anyone know what she is talking about? Or any homemade solutions for this problem?

A career with dogs?

I have recently went through a mid-life crisis sort of thing and I quit my current college and major of culinary arts because I realized that I was persuing something that I didn’t really look forward to. I started thinking about a career that would allow me to do something else that I was passionate about and after thinking, I decided that I wanted to pursue something that dealt with dogs or other such animals. I absolutely LOVE dogs but I don’t wnat to spend my life learning about them in some classroom, which I’ll probably have to do anyway…
2 CommentsAnyway, what are some careers that I can persue that deal in the area of dogs or other such animals. I am sort of pulling away from vet work like in a medical sense so….Something that works directly with dogs would be awesome and no - not an animal shelter. Maybe an animal rehabilitator… Hmmmm….

Do you feel cats should have to be licensed like dogs?

Dont get me wrong, I do love animals and do own them but I also keep my cat indoors and do not allow her to run free outside. I’m getting tired of seeing so many stray cats running around and causing destruction.
I do feel they should and am curious as to which states inforce this.

anyway right now me and my mom have 2 dogs. they are both papillions my moms is really sweet and friendly and mine isnt =[
i still love her but sometimes i want a dog i can hug and the dog i have right now likes to have her space or she gets nervous. shell sit on my lap but if i try to hug her she runs away. so my mom agreed i could get another dog that will be really cuddley and we were thinking of getting a big one to guard the house while were gone. i kinda want something like a st. bernard,mastiff, or somthing like that. but at the same time ive always wanted a dacshund. i think they are sooo sweet and adorable. what should i do??? idk what kinda dog to get, i wanna have somthing in mind cuz if i dont ill take home the first sweet dog i c and it wont end up being right for me so i need to decide now what size i want. btw i want a dog who is calm but will come down to the barn with me when i feed the animals outside. and i want a dog that will sleep on my bed maybe? help what should i look for???

chihuahua’s and the cold?

ok this may seem like a silly question, but i have never lived anywhere it snows nor have i ever owned a small dog.
12 Commentsi have a chihuahua. she weighs 7lbs. i am going to new york for christmas and will be taking her with me. to me she seems as though she has the most fragile pathetic little legs that will shatter in the freezing cold. i’m sure i’m exaggerating. i bought her a little jacket because i don’t want her to get cold when i walk her, but i didn’t get anything for her paws.
i’m usually against putting clothes on animals because i feel like they **** it or will uncomfortable. do i need to get her little footsies? did i even need to get her a jacket? we live in florida so it doesn’t get nearly as cold as new york.

China has proven time and time again that this country does not have animal rights. They use dog and cat fur to trim jackets
, they skin animals alive after beating them with clubs or stomping on them, and now they used poison, melamine, as protein filler in our loved-ones food. 17 pets have died….and over 4,000 farm-raised animals have also passed. What will it take for this country to reform, make laws respecting animals, and show some humanity? I have already started my boycott. I will not buy anything made in China. The Olympics are coming up next year. I will also boycott watching them as they take place in China. This country, and it’s lack of legislation for animal protection, enfuriates me. What are your thoughts?
Yes, humans are sickly violated too in this country. Even more reason to boycott.
