Do you know a dog breed that’s small, really smart and fun?

I had a Yellow lab and I just loved him! I love the kind, funny, obedient, loyal personality of the labs, but unfortunately I can’t have a big dog in my house now so I’m looking for a smaller dog, with the personality of a labrador retriver, and that doesn’t need a lot of cosmetic maintenance, do you know a breed like this?

My maltese will jump up on my mom while she’s lying on the couch and sit on top of her as if my mom is her own personal pillow.
She also always expects a treat and we almost always give in to her.
And my parents let her sleep on their bed, even though she takes up a lot of space.

i live in riverside and i want a new puppy and ill trick my dad into getting one
well my dog roxy i had her for 5 years i got her for free and i take care of her like its my llife so im actully am saving one life becuz she would have gone to the pound i just got her sooner
i want a chep one so i can give it to my dad for fathers day and my dad makes a lot its just i dont OKAY
my dad if he doesnt want one he wont take it to any kill shelter or animal sheler becuz he noes its his and my responsility i had many animal befor and not once we took ione of our animals to a shelter of any kind

What are some humane ways of keeping a dog from barking?

I do not want inhumane or awful ways, just some humane ways of keeping a dog from barking. It’s annoying but I love the dog and don’t want to hurt it or anything like that. It’s not even my dog, it’s my neighbors, but I spend a lot of time with it. She seems to be very nervous and barks an awful lot. What can I do to help calm her down?

i’m looking for a small-sized dog - like a westie or a king charles spaniel, perhaps. i need the dog to be of calm, quiet temperament (so not a jack russel) - i don’t want it to be tearing the place apart if it’s left alone for more than a minute. responsive to training, gentle and loving - anyone know what type fits the bill - and if possible where the best place to buy a dog like this might be? i’ve looked at a lot of rescue sites but the dogs all seem to have emotional issues that it would be unfair of me to attempt to address.

Should i get a citronella bark collar for my 3 month old dachshund?

I got him a couple days ago and renamed him Taz ( Lucky is so cliche). Working on his house breaking but he hates his crate. i only put him in when i leave for school. i would put him in at night too but he barks a lot when we put him in his crate even when i leave for school. i think he has separation anxiety. should i get a citronella bark collar?
