Is it legal to tape the neighbor’s nuisance dog?

I have 15 neighbors with nuisance barking dogs. I’m trying to gather evidence of the problem with my video camera. It’s not for legal means (I’m not going to submit it to a court as evidence). I just want to be able to document the problem and show that I’m not crazy (that there ARE barking dogs).

Some dogs are in front yards and are easy to see from the street, but others are more difficult to find.

Is it legal to aim my camera over my neighbor’s fence from my property to tape their dog? Is it legal to aim a camera over a fence from the sidewalk to tape a dog?

Is it legal to walk into a driveway and aim a videocamera over a fence to tape a dog?

I can hold the camera up high and peek at the LCD display. I’m not taping any humans or windows to houses, just barking dogs.

I know dogs have no expectation of privacy, buy I’d like to know the legality of my project.

Neighbors dog a problem?

Recently my neighbors dog has been entering my property and reeking havoc. He has been ********** in my garden and repeatedly harassing my three cats. Also just the other day he bit my 4 year old. My question is can I legally kill him on my property?

Dog Marking his Territory. helpp?

My dog, Gizmo, is a 6 year old Pekingese and he won’t stop marking his territory! I thought I stopped the problem but I found some *** stains behind my mothers bed when I was re-painting her room for her birthday and I KNOW they werent there before. I’m getting so frustrated! I took him to the vet for a full blown checkup and hes fine, so its not a UTI. I know not to use anything with Ammonia (hes used to the ammonia anyway, so it doesnt help). He was neutered at 6 months, so I have no idea WHY he keeps doing this!

I’m usually good with solving these types of problems, but this one stumps me. I have a new puppy (female) who is almost 7 months old and I dont want her to learn that its okay to *** inside the house — and for Gizmo to throw off her training because she is doing SO well.

If anyone has any websites or ANY advice, please share. I’m at my witz end!
If you need to know any additional info, just tell me and I’ll Add Details for you.

Thanks so much.
I’ve had the new pup for FOUR months though! He didnt mark his territory when I got my new puppy. He was fine until I found the stain which looked a couple days old.

I’m skeptical that its about the new puppy. I’ve also babysat LOADS of puppies for friends/neighbors for 2 weeks (tops) and he has always been fine and no marking.
To Charizard: I have NEVER and will NEVER beat my dog! Thats just a little ridiculous.

Anytime he does something I dont want him to do I say “NO” in a very firm voice.
Depending on what he does thats bad I might ignore him for 5-10 mins. tops.

Thats ALL I do when punishing any animal.

I hope you don’t hit your dogs.
GoldenGal: I don’t think it was an accident. I admit I have been a bit busy w/ classes and the new pup, but I always wind up taking him out when he needs to go (he barks at you when he has to go outside).

He is never left alone for more than 8 hours at a time and he is baby gated in the kitchen which is tiled.

We have had some thunderstorms lately (I think last week we had some bad ones) but he always just hides behind the couch the whole night.

During the night he is gated so he can only go in my mothers room and the kitchen, no where else. He has ALWAYS slept in her room since he was about 1 year old on her bed.

Yes, he’s marked his territory before and I had the rugs proffesionally cleaned to get the smell out. I watched him like a hawk and after a few months he did not do this anymore.

Now hes starting again! :[
I have no clue how to stop him from being good for months and then messing up. I guess re-training is in order.

Thanks for all the answers so far too!

What is the going rate for dog walking?

My son who is 10 wants to start a dog walking business. We live in a large apartment complex and many of our neighbors have dogs and busy lives. He figured he could make some money with a few strategically placed signs, but we don’t know what the rate should be. Any ideas?
We live in Nashville, TN. And as for the length of time, we were thinking 15-30 minutes.

What are some humane ways of keeping a dog from barking?

I do not want inhumane or awful ways, just some humane ways of keeping a dog from barking. It’s annoying but I love the dog and don’t want to hurt it or anything like that. It’s not even my dog, it’s my neighbors, but I spend a lot of time with it. She seems to be very nervous and barks an awful lot. What can I do to help calm her down?

How do I stop my 2 dogs from digging under the fence when my neighbors dog is out?

I just had a fence built for my 2 dogs. On one side of the yard I share a fence with my neighbors who have a dog that spends most of the time outdoors. I was so excited to provide my dogs with a safe and secure place to play and now I’m a bit disheartened because my dogs and my neighbors dog have immediately begun digging together in the same spot in an attempt to get at each other. Their dog digs on his side and mine dig on my side. I haven’t left them outside unsupervised for more than a half hr. or so at a time, and between the 3 of them working together they’re mananging to do some damage. It’s a wooden fence. I read about putting chicken wire under the fence, but is it going to be a problem that my neighbors dog is digging on his side too?

Advice on free roaming dog?

Hello there,

I live in a very small rural community and in fact our road there is about 7 nice trailers and only two fenced yards (ours and our neighbors) I have two dogs and take the best care of them and in fact just adopted a pup from one of the local neighbors.

The thing is this neighbors dog breaks off of her chain all the time (I **** chaining) and he is never home and she always comes to my fence and neighbors and bothers the dogs…she is a menacing dog to the point of aggressive towards other dogs. I saw her running free with other dogs following and I am sure she is in heat and is gonna have another batch of pups. The owner is NEVER home, she is not spayed and it is getting to be a nuisance and threatening to the other dogs as she brings dogs from across the street that I do not know.

The local humane society cannot do anything and animal control seems unfair to her….they would end up putting her down.

I dunno what to do this owner is so irresponsible ugh!!
Sorry I forgot to add I have tried to get her to come to me, however, she is very wary she just barks and runs back a few dozen feet and watches me. I feel so bad for her.

can anyone out there tell me about the allow dogs to run at large charge?

i have a 8 month old lab shepard mix that got out through my basement window . As soon as one of my neighbors seen she called me at work and I came to get her in but my husband already had gotten here. I only work two blocks away from my house. today i was served with a summons because someone called and reported it. I know who because he has been trying to force my landlord to make me get rid of them because he doesn’t like my dogs. what should I do?
this person constantly harasses my dogs to get them to bark, he watches my house and even tells my landlord when I leave the basement light on.
