Is a permit required to resell a dog in California?

If a new owner of a dog has a show breeding kennel in California (not a commercial kennel!), and they acquire a dog with the intent of possibly selling it to another person for monetary gain, is a resale license/permit required?

Does anyone know if the dog food problem has been solved? Is it only in the wet food or is the dry food bad 2?

I bought new dog food recently and am afraid to open it and feed it to my dogs because I am afraid it might have some of the rat poison in it. What brands are affected and how do I know if it is safe or not?

How do i make my dog less mean?

I have a 4-yr-old Husky/Lab mix. He loves people, but is very aggressive towards other dogs. If I am petting him, and another dog comes over to us, there is a good chance he will bite that dog. In fact, anytime he meets a new dog, there is a good chance he will bite that dog. Any suggestions? I bought a muzzle that i use, but i hope to one day not need it.
The dog was neutered at 9 months.

How would one create a new dog breed [please read before jumping to conclusions]?

I don’t want to make a new dog breed. Honestly, this is just out of curiosity. I am a strong believer in adoption and rescues and speutering, I just also have a very curious nature :)
But how would one be able to create a new dog breed without being accused of creating a “designer dog breed”? If someone actually wanted to start a new breed? I am just curious… I’m a bumbling ball of questions, don’t judge me, hunnies :]

Proud owner of two mutts!
Please no putting thumbs-down on any of the questions, unless they are really not legit. I’d really appreciate you all showing some kindness for the spirit of Halloween :) Mason P- I know that you can create a mutt by breeding two dog breeds, but what I want to know is how one could create an actual, legit dog breed. I know there is more to it than just breeding a bunch of breeds together in a mosh pit of dog.

I’m thinking of getting my Beagle a new dog collar. Is that okay? Or do dogs tend to get attached to their collars? I know . . . stupid question. But I honestly don’t know. Please help!!!

Trouble in paradise, can you identify my problem?

Hi everyone. Yesterday as usual I went to my Saturday dog activity, always with my same friend and her dog. We had to leave early cause our dogs were acting like a pack of mad wolves terrorizing each new dog coming in! It’s the first time this has happened, the people in charge of the activity were as puzzled as we were on this, this was out of character for our dogs.

We both have male cockers 18 m/o. Our dogs are neutered and had professional basic training.

I had an accident and I am presently in a cast unable to give my dog his regular routine. I have a dog walker but this is far from replacing the daily activities my dog is used to (biking, field, play ball, etc). My dog was used to have an active fun owner and now I’m immobile and in pain. (Thank God it’s a temporary situation)

Yesterday was my first outing since my accident. All I did was sit and watch. My friend took over my dog’s disciplining when needed.

Is my physical limitations the problem? is the fact I handed over the disciplining to my friend the problem? are our dogs becoming a pack of their own?

Any clues would be much appreciated and how do we break it. Thanks

How can I help my new dog get used to her new home?

My family just got a new, 2 and a half year old dog last night. Before, she had been with another woman and her family for 2 years. I fixed her food just the way she always eats it, but she only ate half. The ex-owner said that she loves to hit around a soccer ball outside, but when I tried playing with her, she just kept walking.
Last night a couple of hours after they left her with us, she was playing with my dad just like a puppy.
Please don’t say “give her lots of attention”, because I already do. Being the one home the most, it’s mainly my job to take care of her.
